So, I've just found out what makes theists delusional about the world around them.
It's a will of (at least one) god: It is abused a lot by theists to ignore the natural laws and the actual state of a given subject. Case in point of a joke I came up with, "There was a theist, playing CoD MW2 one day and as some fucking camper was shooting down players around him, the theist thought "Gosh golly look at how God makes these people around me lay down in sleep! And that's amidst of a CoD game!" That is how it is for theists, if it is something they do not want to hear as the truth, they pan it off as being god's will.
Wanting to ditch the science: I get told frequently on how "dinasours have never existed (FACT!)," how "The world is 157 years old (and will always be, FACT!)" and how "science is a lie". But yet from the looks of it, most theists have been putting down what they can not comprehend without giving thought to the possibility that god(s) didn't make it happen. Back in the day theists would call astronomers "heretics" as they made claims about how Earth circles around the sun and not the other way around. Now it is a common fact. Theists will toss out science evidence that does not match the contents of their 'Holy Book' or lore. Like claiming that the homosexuality is not natural but a devil's work. Truth hurts and the truth is that homosexuality is not an illness and completely natural, as it's found in other species too.
LOLWUT. For the first one, I have never heard a religious person describe a game that way o_o It's just a game, not EVERYTHING has to be caused by God's intervention. Especially for a multiplayer game. If I ever hear someone ACTUALLY say something similar I'll return to this thread XD For the second one, it just makes me cringe how some theists will do this ;_; And I have heard of the Earth being 6000 years old, but never 157! And how can it ALWAYS be that old? Time fail? But I have actually heard about things where they will claim that carbon dating has been shown to be "highly inaccurate", and therefor, we can't trust it. How do you explain dinosaur fossils, that we can plainly see?? It's not like they were all bones from other currently living animals mashed together!
Well... You don't spend too much time on this forum, do you?
And I have heard of the Earth being 6000 years old, but never 157! And how can it ALWAYS be that old? Time fail? No, Kifflom. You aren't gaming enough. [link] and adverts for that thing in San Andreas.
Okay, I'm sorry I didn't get the game reference 0_0 Just because I don't know one meaningless detail shouldn't be the measurement for experience on a forum.
Now I think I wanna read it just to see how bad it is XD I started writing a rant/essay in regards to theists and atheists and generally how they screw up either standpoint for everyone else. The first "Atheist Delusion" gave great insight on why many theists are looked down on
