What sets Christianity apart

:iconwillowewolf:

One of the reasons I find Christianity more believable is how different it is from any other religion. For instance, no other religion has:

- A loving God
- the knowledge that man can't earn heaven
- equality
- a merciful God
- a just God
- followers who accept they're sinners and know only God can forgive them for it

What do you think?

And before you say anything, know that I don't think you really know what you're talking about if you have to yell and insult me.

This thread would be tragic if I actually cared. The christians who claim there is nothing negative about the bible are lost causes, hypocrites who have been blinded by the "Light" they call Christ. You stare at something so bright for long enough, eventually you stop seeing the things that surround it.

But I won't argue this point any further. Let them believe. It's their eternity after all. ;)

A loving god who led his people against other people, and they're all his children, so that the Israelites/Jews/Hebrews/what-have-you would destroy towns and villages on their way to the promised land.

Google "What makes X special as a religion", and replace X with Islam, Catholicism, Baptism, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc...

While the arguments you present may appeal to you, an actual inquiry into each individual religions shows quite quickly they all claim similar greatness, oft not that different from the list you propose.

It goes to show that apologetics [link] really ultimately only work for those who already believe. I.e. your argument works only for you,

Don't those things just make it easier to believe? Not more believable?

"What sets Christianity apart" from what? Religion? No, it's a bit more than that. See, everyone looking for satisfaction (or some people would call salvation) even atheist are also searching (weather it's science, education or just themselves) but they'll never find it because people try to achieve themselves only to be lost on a island, this is the point of the ten commandments given to the israelites, to teach them that you couldn't fellow the rules independently, rather you should lean completely to God so that heaven could be attained. Now, this is where Jesus comes in because the leaders of Israel claim they already attain salvation (though, they didn't act like it) but only in their own righteousness much like religious people today, Jesus pointed it out that only in him (if you trust that He's the son of God) by the death of himself carrying your sins to the grave and replace your nature with his, which is godly. by life apart from his death. You are dead (meaning unresponsive to life) in sin which wouldn't allow you to go to heaven, Jesus become life for you to be a citizen in where life dwells. "it's Grace." - C.S. Lewis, that set apart Christianity from everything else.

And for addition for this forum "what sets Christianity apart." watch this video [link] and hope to whatever you worship to has something better to say.

Christianity is different because each "religion" is based on the culture of which it forms from, like Zeus you could tell the idea came from the Greek by understanding their life styles which reflect the idea of a...'Lighting God."
But if you ever read Genesis it was the opposite, God led the people and By Him, He created a culture which later through Jesus Christ's Blood (source of life) all people could join as a local in this culture by grace which eventually would lead you towards Heaven.

"If God were good, He would make His creatures perfectly happy, and if He were almighty He would be able to do what he wished. But the creatures are still not happy. Therefore God lacks either goodness, or power, or both." - C.S. Lewis the reason for suffering specifically with Jesus in mind. Other reason for pain around the world is the fall of man (you don't need a bible to know sin) and the rejection for the cure.
