Loss of Appetite

Ever since November till now Janurary I have had no appetite.
I could probably go for a while without eating, but I make myself eat at least once a day.
In November I took a mediciene that had that side effect but I only took it for the month of November and no more. So that doesn't explain why it continued.
Before November I'd be very hungry after school.
My BMI is I think exactly 20. Or less so borderline average and underweight. So before November 121 pounds. But after I lost some so 117 pounds or even less.
I'm 5 foot 5. And female.
In my childhood I have had a tendency of being underweight and unable to eat.
I mostly attributed that to very crooked teeth but right now I still have swallowing troubles and cough when I eat.
After braces I could eat anything and it was a lot easier. A year or so back.
So right now I have no appetite, I'd rather go without eating.
And even if the food is yummy my appetite isn't working and even when it's things that I don't like the most.
A few spare times I have actually felt hunger, but I wouldn't eat because the food wasn't my favourite.

Basically what to do? And what is it?

I don't think that bmi or your weight is low enough to be worrying, and not eating food you don't like/isn't your favourite is normal (I think).

4-5lbs over 1-2months isn't that bad either.

Apart from loss of appetite, is there any thing else? Or any more serious problems (hairloss, low blood sugar/pressure, amenorrhea etc) caused by malnutrition/loss of appetite? If there isn't, I don't think you need to worry about appetite.

The coughing from eating sounds more like a problem that is more worrying though.

We've been to the doctor to correct my cough often. But nothings worked so far.
I just have this constant cough.
And I think that's what was causing my chest pain mentioned in an earlier post.
But I always seem to have issues. :(

Have you talked to your doctor about the swallowing? You could need your tonsils out. Plus, if you are having issues with it now it would be good to get it checked out because trouble swallowing only gets worse with age.

They checked and everything seemed to be fine in my throat.
I think there was some drainage issues.

 I hope it bothers you less soon.

how much water do u drink per day?

the more u drink the more u'll feel hungry

All I drink in a day is a cup of milk every morning.
Tea at any meal I eat 1-2.
And half a cup of water before I sleep.

I'll try drinking more, I usually always have one water bottle at school that I drink 1/3 to a 1/2 of. But I haven't noticed that connection before.

yep drink more and then hopefully u'll see the difference ;)
there are days when I drink less water and feel less hungry as a result :|

yeah, I had those feelings for years.
man it sucks cause I hate to eat for fearing I'd go obese.
I think I'm bulimic tho and that sucks

I throw up food but I fight the urge not to, and
I get disgusted when I ingest too much

Eeck. I don't have that.
And I never eat till I'm full.
But I hope it doesn't last long.

yeah, I don't eat till I'm full either.
I urge myself not to cause I'm trying to be more healthy.
also I forget to eat cause I'm too busy and I got alot of
stuff that goes in my mind that I get distracted.
