Is it okay for Bob to say what he doesn't like about his ex-gf, Judie, to Adam? Bob wouldn't say these things to Judie because it'd be uncomfortable and there's not even a need for these things to be said to her. Adam doesn't have the means to talk to Judie but doesn't care about it.

I know that saying bad things about exes is bad.
I know that saying bad things you wouldn't say to the actual person's face to other persons is bad.

It's highly rude, but not truly bad if he's just stating what he doesn't like and isn't exaggerating. If he's stretching the truth it is bad, though.

My friend is doing the same thing to her ex. But I kinda think its bad and not bad.

Why is it bad? If they’re an ex, then the obligation to spare their feelings is moot. Talking about how you feel about someone to someone else isn’t bad. I mean, if he’s going around saying she smells or something, just to make her look bad, then yeah.
