Paris-London on saddle

Dear friends,
during last summer in Paris I seen a sign in Notre-Dame for go in London on bike.
So, since I'm a very sporty person, I decided to do it!
I'm planning to go in Paris next spring and begin the "Avenue Verte", precisely on bike, to go in London.
I would ask anyone who might know a few things.
I'm searching on internet the exact route for see it and for the "booking" of the hotels/B&B, etc.
There are hotels on the route?
Another question: I would rent a bike directly in Paris and leave it in London. You know if is possible?
My idea is:
go to Paris by Rome (ITA) with airplane;
arrive to Notre-Dame (Bicycle Rental);
go to London on the route of 408km;
make a city tour of London;
turn back to Rome with airplane by London.

So, I will travel with the bare minimum and I thought to pedal for about 100km at day. Every night I must change the hotel and plan my meals (even only with sandwiches if necessary).
Any advice? ;)

My picture of the road sign! :D

You can try couchsurfing instead of hotels. Might be cheaper!

Great idea... I can try to search someone in the area near the route.
Thanks, I'll keep it in consideration. ;)

just buy a bike and donate it when you are finished with it. I'm sure it is not like U-Haul where you can rent a truck in one state and leave it in another.

Hi Talya,
I think that during next days I will call some bike rental company for ask to they.
They'll think I'm crazy. :D
If I really cannot find another solution I'll take mine, with me on the plane.
Thank you for your reply!!!

Why ship it? Just buy one when you get there. You never know what information on your trip and advice that you can get in a bike shop.

I think that the shipping (as for baggage on the plane) is less expensive that buy another one there.
Ryanair (or similar) to ship sports equipment ask 50€, but a new bike is worth at least 300€.
I dont know what to do.

I was just thinking about all the hassle, taking it to the airport, checking it in, retrieving it on arrival, transporting it to where ever you are going to start, possible theft, the whole works. 300 lbs does seem like a lot of money, but you can always sell it before your return.
