IF IT WERE ME (that's a legal disclaimer) ... IF IT WERE ME I'd take some over the counter NSAID pain relievers (ibuprofen, naproxen) in the hopes it would reduce the pressure on the nerve. But taking those things long-term really can mess with one's stomach.

A trapped nerve can be a real pain no matter what is trapping it. Most likely this is caused by the trapezoid muscle, whose sole purpose is in fact to trap things. I would recommend trying to keep your nerves away from the trapezoid, since it is very skilled at doing this. Another alternative would be to find your own Admiral Ackbar and keep him handy at all times, this way he can tell you whenever he senses a trap.
Anyone able to suggest stretches or something that could help?
