If you have a question on something that you think one of your professors you've taken classes with in the past can be the most likely to provide the best answer to, do you think it is alright to email them, even though you're no longer taking a class instructed by him or her?
Sure: Okay, so they probably won't like to be bothered all the time with chats and things, but if they're willing to help, it can't hurt to try. They might be touched you'd think to ask them for their opinion even though you no longer have classes with them. Sure, they might be caught up with work and things, but they'll probably be pleasently surprised to see an e-mail from a past student.
I don't see why not.

Well, I was just asking, because I thought they might only want to focus on the students for THEIR classes since those current students are the ones paying for the instruction.
True, but they can still be pleased to hear from someone they used to teach. I don't know what kind of relationship you have with yur teachers but at my school they're like best friends and they love to hear from you. It would be a blessing to them if I sent them and e-mail asking them something, even once I leave.
It would be like you moving into a new circles of friends, then recieving a message or phone call asking for help from someone you knew way back. It's refreshing and flattering.
And you're welcome. I love helping people.

Yeah definitely. My teachers tell me whenever I graduate from their class to email them anytime. I think it might depend on the relationship you had with your teacher.
