I think you should do it in Utrecht, because it's more remote (and cheaper to get a train ticket).
I don't think I'll come though I'm a mere student, withouth any money...

There is only one place to organize a dutch devmeet and thats AMSTERDAM
the heart of the netherlands...and it doesn't have to be expensif...u dont need much for a devmeet...all students in the netherlands have OV pass so they travell for free...or 40% cheaper in the weekends...if its nice weater u can do it outside...i know very nice place as location its a big park near to a big lake (were u even can swim) its called gaasperplas and its just outside of amsterdam...with the A9 highway nearby and a there is a metro station (direct to/from amsterdam central station) perfect no?...

I know I know!!!! But this is the first time I have ever tried to put something like this together... I am not anxious or stressed of course, we always thought that we would start with this, a small devmeet, see how it goes and then organize something bigger... Now, so far, we had Utrecht 5 votes to Amsterdam 1 vote... Sorry, 2 with yours!! Who knows? If you can get people to vote for Amsterdam thensomething could work out... Help us spread the word my friend, and I promise you 2 pints of Guiness on me!!!! hehehe...

Amsterdam isn't very central, compared to Utrecht. Utrecht is much more central and easier to reach (plus shorter travel time) from other places in the country.

it was just a tought...Gaasperplas Park is a realy nice as location...there are plenty BBQ spots and u can go swimming but the best things is that its for FREE and its outdoors in a realy peacefull surrounding...ideal for a first relaxing devmeet...but im open for other locations...were in Utrecht did u guys had in mind?

im spreading the word but i think it some people should take the lead...and make those decisions...if people want to meet on a devmeet they come anyway...maybe the first time only tree people...but afther a first there is a second...and so on...maybe people get more intrested if they see its something solid...u need a core team to organize...make some advertisement on deviant site...with banner/poster/flyer or other type of invitation/shout...
maybe there is a way to send a notification note to all dutch members...we can check that with deviant admins...
let people know of the idea...
