Alrighty here to break the news on the first Melbourne DevMeet!

At the moment the meet itself is being organised by =braidy and myself, ¢budgieishere. If anyone has ANY queries regarding happenings for this meet, don't hesitate to drop either of us a note or a comment on our pages and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

We now have a definate date, being the Saturday, 25th of September. The meeting time has not yet been fully determined, we are working out the most convenient time for the majority of people, this will include any deviants that need to come in via V-Line (those being me and =braidy, possibly others). For updates on this, it would be best to keep watching =braidys and I's journals for regular updates.

We are planning to meet up everyone at Federation Square, most possibly around the big screen as it is easy to find, and we will work out a marker so it will be easy to find us. Again, come closer to the date, we will work this out for sure and put up changes in our journals. If the weather on that day is wet and dreary, we will most likely be not meeting at Fed Sq., rather across Swanston St. under the cover around Flinders St. Station. We have decided that if this is the case, instead of meeting under the clocks (which can get a bit crowded), we will instead meet just around the corner where the other ticket gates are, next to the Tabaret near the mini-mural. Photos of exactly where this will be will be taken and marked, and again put up in our journals so that even deviants with very little experience around Melbourne will be able to find us. Additionally we will add some Melways reference maps, just to clear up everything.

The general meet will initially start off in Fed Sq., then we have planned a few little things just to get to mingle and meet the people who have turned up. However again these are subject to change closer to the meet date, so stay tuned.

To start off we might have a few little activities, mainly to mingle and to make the general atmosphere feel easier to those who may be shy. These could include popping down to Birrarung Ma and having a kick of a hacky sack, or maybe throw a vortex around.

After this we will trundle down to Southbank, letting people get some food, allowing them to chat and generally enjoy the experience down there.

As an option at the moment, we may go and see a movie down at Crown, but this step is entirely optional, as I know people may not want to see one or just can't afford it.

The Botanic Gardens are a major option, letting us take a stroll down the Yarra, and relax in the gardens, allowing for group photos, drawing and what not.

On top of all this, if some of the older deviants would like to pop over to a pub for a few quiet drinks and reflections on the day, to wind down and relax, that can be arranged.

Bring a camera, writing book, drawing book, pencils, a footy, anything you think might help your enjoyment of the meet (keep the sex toys at home though people)

Most of all this day will be about enjoying yourselves, meeting new people and hopefully starting new friendships. If this meet is successful enough, we may plan additional meets into the future, again structured around school holidays to make it easier for people to get to.

NOTE: Not all details are fully worked out yet, stay tuned to this thread and both =braidy's and my journals, linked below. Regular updates will be posted there.

Because it is all not entirely set in concrete, spread the word around to anyone you can and get them to get back here and watch out for updates. I think the only certain thing so far is the date, and meeting places.

Remember to spread the word to as many deviants as you think who might like to come along.
