I like to think I can be called a female artist... and I certainly plan to dedicate my life to art! There are artistic women out there, I think you just need to hunt for them. I've found plenty of female artists I like (then again, I do go to a girls' school).

Of course, women haven't really been artists for as long as men have, seeing as it was relatively recently, in terms of the world of art, that women have been allowed to have varied jobs and skills. So you're less likely to find antique art that is done by a woman.

Have you ever heard of Lady Butler? One of my favourite female artists who paint battle scenes all her life - not a very 'female' subject to draw, either, especially for her time! However, her work is to be admired. There are plenty of souls just like her, I'm sure.
