No, that is not true. Nobody in the real world cares how much you detest violence. There are people out there who deserve a punch in the face for being the scumbags they are or to have the death penalty enforced on them. Because for one thing, there are serial killers out there like Jeffrey Dahmer who raped and murdered both men and little boys and he ended up getting mutilated and killed by his fellow inmates. There are people out there who have it coming.
There's also a lot of morons who complain about Stalin but don't realize that if it wasn't for him, there would be no Jews left, no Romani people, no Eastern Europeans (yes, Nazi Germany had a plan to starve out Eastern European populations and replace them with ethnic Germans who he considred "Aryans" and whatnot) and also people who whine about how ruthless of a dictator Mao Zedong was while ignoring the history of wealthy landlords exploiting peasants. Well I can understand how it's misused (a lot) that's the issue and yes, a lot of innocent people die without hard cold evidence (Troy Davis for example) but that whole "nobody deserves to die thing" is way too utopian because not a lot of these idealistic pseudo-intellectuals want to point out that a white guy raped and murdered a little girl or that a white guy lynched a black man, instead they want to say things like "what the fuck is wrong with humanity?" instead of "most of these criminals come from this demographic" or "fuck that guy I hope he dies in prison." So what you're telling me is that you don't want the court to sentence someone who is clearly deemed too dangerous to let live to be put to death? How can you not value the safety of society as a whole?
