"Writers" can't read.
There is a category for fanfiction, so why the hell is fanfiction being put under the original prose category? These so-called writers must have some reading capability if they are able to string together the letters of their stories' titles.
And then there are the people who put RPs under prose (not that these should be anywhere but scraps to begin with), and actual prose under poetry or script. And don't even get me started on the special snowflakes and their "Free form prose". Wtf? Do they not teach basic lit forms in school anymore?
Tl;dr: Too much miscategorized crap in dA's Lit categories.

Never mind which categories they sort their scribbles into. If you actually read most Internet fiction, it should be self-evident the "writers" can barely read themselves.

It's because they just want their story out there and don't know how to do it properly. They disregard the labels just to put them somewhere.
Which is why those sorts of people will never get anywhere with their work.
And that's also why people call it spam
I'm sure the people who want to get somewhere with their work won't be so lazy. But some people just post their work to post their work so to them, it doesn't matter what category it's in so they get lazy and either click what they think might be correct or click whatever.
I always thought It could be beneficial if it had to be approved first like how uploading videos are. Least make it so It would be a little bit harder not to screw up xD

ninety percent of the actually original fic is poorly written fetish porn. you're better off with groups.
Actually there are about five different types of five. The porn is what we call lemon fics. So it's about 1/5 "porn".
