Disappointing dolls
I bought one of those little wooden poseable dolls. I don't know what you call them in English. They're called limb dolls in Dutch.
Anyway, their range of motion is awful! I considered getting one of those ball-jointed dolls, because they seem to be more poseable, but they're hella expensive and usually only come in animu proportions. Especially the cheaper ones.
Why is it so hard to make good, affordable poseable dolls! This is outrageous! It's 2015! It's the future! If we can't have flying cars and a cure for every possible disease yet, then at least invent some good poseable dolls!

I know what you're talking about and I can't pose with them, too, so they just sit at my desk collecting dust. I look at some poses online but I can't get the proportions right. And don't tell me about doing anatomy from memory...
And today I found out that 3wyl no longer mod here. She was the only username I memorize
First, I suck at anatomy (drawing some hentai of one of my characters since no one will), second I didn't notice the change of symbol next to the name, and third I have a stats test. Actually my stats class isn't too bad, so I can get something good out of it.

It happened recently. I summoned her to a forum and I was told that she is no longer admin here. It was hella embarrassing. Then again, I didn't know.

they really do suck. as others have mentioned, i mostly see people using 3D software. if i was an artist i'd use that too because 3D software can't give you splinters. ;u;
Posing something in 3d software takes forever though.. D:
at least it's actually possible to pose a 3D model's legs tho. 
True true.I was decently quick with poser, but I find it hard to pose models properly and in a good, natural-looking pose with DAZ
The advantage of DAZ is that it is free. If you want to render 3d art I would recommend something like Maya or Cinema4d. Poser and Daz will be perfect to use as a reference (as a substitute for a live model), in the same way as the doll it does not need to be perfect.
I also recommend to take a look at www.onairvideo.com/ for reference images if you are doing figure drawings - as they have a large gallery and the number of poses to the human body is limited this may save you a little time.

I got one too that deemed itself useless. I know take it to class with me and my students can paint him if they want. We call him Woody.
Letting students touch your woody sounds a bit inappropriate..
Yeah, I know how it sounds, but that's what they wanted to call him! I'm hoping the next class will be a little more creative with the name.
Yea, I have one of those too and god, it's movement is so stiff. Now it just sits on my desk cause it's no help at all.

Order them online from ebay or a Chinese company, I saw it was like 10 cents each if you order 100 direct from the supplier and you can easily afford that.I would recommend getting a 3d model viewing program instead so you can play with the dolls in there and they have much more realistic proportions and adjustable lighting for reference instead of an artist mannequin.
Why would I want a hundred useless things?

There's Japanese programs for all hentai poses with a choice of either animu body or realistic body, I personally just take a picture of myself or someone else for poses that I want.
