Christmas articles on September annoy

Christmas is on going soon and seems that some shops offer their Christmas-related products even on September :O
But why now? It's September and autumn has begun already.  At least in the German shops the Christmas products are offered here and after a regional research over 50% are in the opinion that it annoys a lot that Christmas producs are in the shops on September already - Rightly!
I want to enjoy autumn first before Christmas is coming.

So let the fall come before they offer now with their Christmas stuff.
So now they're discussing of a regulation whether the shops may offer only in the time between the middle of November and Christas Eve.

So not in the German region Christmas is even on September.
Maybe from other countries of the world the shops is now Christmas time - on September!
But I ask you, do we need Christmas now on September, if we can get the stuff on November or on December? Does it annoy you too (supposing there are now Christmas suff in your shops)?

I find Christmas is not running away from you. We still have time and now we should start enjoying Autumn :dummy: Maple Leaf

That's retail for you. They usually get merchandise for the holiday in question ready two months in advance. That's normally how it works, i guess.

The Wal-Mart by my house has Christmas lights and inflatables next to Halloween costumes, candy and inflatables.
This was done in late August...it was summer!

Don't get me wrong. I like Christmas a ton. It's one of my favourite holidays of the year. But is it too much to ask to let us get through Halloween and Thanksgiving first?!

So yeah, it annoys me, too. Except for the Christmas store in Banff where they sell mostly Christmas stuff year long, but that's the point of the store.

You know what? Eeeeh! Christmas! YES!

Far as I'm concerned, Christmas is never here soon enough and it doesn't last long enough :boogie:

Another weird business tactic.

Haven't seen much Christmas in my area, but it doesn't bother me too much. I'm just ready for Halloween!

I: I get ya-here in Australia when I went shopping, there was already Christmas stuff selling!! O.o

I bet that these people are afraid of having overwhelming crowds :P Or something, hehe.

Oh, to the person that said comments in regards to Australians and their 'lifestyles'-unlike the majority of countries which are situated in the Northern hemisphere, Australia is located in the Southern hemisphere, meaning that we have opposite seasons. So right now we are having Spring whereas you guys are having Fall/Autumn. Also, since Christmas is celebrated in December around the world, Australia has no choice but to celebrate it in Summer, unless us Australians could be dumb and celebrate it in June, when it's Winter Roll Eyes Doesn't sound right does it?

I used to start seeing it around Halloween, but September is way too soon. I see that too in stores these days. Let fall be fall!

Each year, Christmas products are sold sooner and sooner... This year I saw for the first time an ad involving Santa Claus, we were still in August. Santa Claus while Summer wasn't even finished!!!

Between Summer and Christmas other events exists. In France we have Halloween and All Saints' Day, in other countries there is Thanksgiving, etc.
For me Autumn is also the yellow/brown/red colors of the nature, the season of apples and chestnuts, the weather which starts to get fresher after the heat of Summer.

Then, and only after, comes the Christmas stuff, the cold of winter, the snow, the spirit... This moment should start at December 1st. Or 1/2 weeks ago for Advent calendars. But that's all. Celebrating Christmas during the long Summer days is totally ridiculous, unless you live in the South hemisphere, but I guess they start to sell products while there is still snow on the ground here :(

I totally agree with you.

I think stores are competing who gets the xmas stuff out first.

The stupid part is that if you point this out to people you have a chance of "War on Christmas!!!" blabbering even though it has 0% to do with the religious aspect of the holiday and 100% to do with the mind-frying commercialism. I dislike few things as much as Christmas holiday ads that scream at you to buy everything, especially cars.

And I thought the stores where I live jump the gun. I was told they prepare for XMAS two months ahead of time.

In August a local Home Depot started selling Christmas trees and lawn decorations for Christmas.
