Getting fired for being pregnant.
The National League New York Mets are in hot water for
allegedly firing a sales executive because she was pregnant
and unmarried.
In the lawsuit it is alleged COO Jeff Wilpon, son of owner
Fred Wilpon, took exception to Castergine's 'condition'.
"He frequently humiliated Castergine in front of others by, among other things, pretending to see if she had an engagement ring on her finger and openly stating in a meeting of the Team's all-male senior executives that he is ‘morally opposed' to Castergine ‘having this baby without being married."
According to the lawsuit, she was terminated shortly after complaining about Jeff Wilpon's behavior to the club's human resources department.

The Mets have enough problems getting people to
buy tickets to their games, I'm not sure alienating the women

It's not illegal to fire someone who is pregnant, but it is illegal to fire someone because they are pregnant. What in that asshole's mind lead him to believe he wouldn't get dragged to court in behind this? She needs to slap the bastard with harassment as well.
