Disney, if you can't find a director for the Star Wars sequel trilogy...

:iconmiletich2:
miletich2 Featured By Owner Jan 24, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
I would suggest postponing the project to 2017, which is the 40th anniversary of the birth of Star Wars. Or better yet, DROP IT FOR GOOD! Because too many directors have fallen to the dark side by declining to direct Episode VII. Take Zack Snyder for example. He should have been willing to direct the new Star Wars, but NO! Instead, he wants to do a fucking spin-off or maybe an original trilogy remake. Directors like Steven Spielberg say the Star Wars saga is fine the way it is, as a six film series. Not a series of nine movies. Or twelve! J.J. Abrahms has even said he's not gonna direct Star Wars. Here's proof. [link]

Star Wars and Disney...

I cannot begin to guess what could be an even bigger market whore than those two coming together.

Doesn't Disney already have Star Wars? I mean with the Star Tours ride at Epcot and the Star Wars characters in the parks.

I'm not really interested in the movies and so I just don't care about anything to do with it. I wish I didn't attract so much surprise from people when I say I haven't watched them and don't plan to.

George Lucas might try and deny it now, but back in the 1970s he PROMISED us 9 movies.

He can try to edit our memories like he edits his re-releases, but he can't change 2 things: Those of us who fell in love with SW on its first release remember what he said then. And HAN SHOT FIRST.

I think this is a promise that a good chunk of SW fans are glad that he didn't kept.:B

He was a better director when he had a limited budget and couldn't afford to be a self-indulgent twat.

You do realize they already confirmed the director for Star Wars VII, right? it's going to be J.J. Abrams, the one who directed the new 2009 Star Trek movie and soon Star Trek Into Darkness (2013).

Disney didn't buy this franchise to not make a movie so they can bilk the public for a few billion$. It's business.
Sorry but art and cinema and storytelling and honoring great film is not what CEOs care about. :iconmoneyplz:

And they're going to make as many Star Wars movies as they can until people stop seeing them and they end up direct to video. That's when they'll drop it. If it takes 28 episodes of horrible movies, then that's what it will take.

On the other hand Disney has done an excellent job with the Marvel movies so far, so I'm staying hopeful that they'll do the same with Star Wars. They're extremely good at managing IP.

After obtaining the rights, Disney announced the idea of Star Wars VII. But thus far as the public knows, it is only an idea for a future movie and has not been worked on beyond a few rumours running around (i.e. Darth Vader being in it.)

I will hire actors with a natural charisma. Actors who actually SUIT their roles like in the original trilogy - not the forced cardboard cut outs he hired for the prequels.

I don't hate it either, I admit though when I got into Star Wars I was like 13 or so and so I didn't have the nolstagia goggles from watching the original trilogy first.
