So here I am in a bar late tonight drinking my soda and reading my book. It's at a good part so I'm oblivious to what's going on around me...and I missed some excitement. Though I looked up just in time the to see the dude who got kicked out walking backwards, flipping off the restaurant and being in the middle yelling "F You" as he trips over the fence and falls on his butt
Guess the dude was pretty hammered and being inappropriate towards the waitress and verbally abusive to the other patrons. Was apparently pretty loud when the bartender was escorting him out...man I always miss the excitement
I have it the other way around. I just can't concentrate on reading anything at all... Ever. But everything else that's around me is distracting as hecks.
I once missed a car crash because I was reading while walking down the street. I looked up only after hearing a big clunk, where I then saw two very annoyed drivers with their smashed cars.
Reminds me of a friend who was reading and riding his bike (he did it every day) home from work. He passed this car accident (guess it was a bad one) and didn't even noticed
One would think that reading in the privacy of your own home would be quieter and more peaceful than reading in a bar with noisy patrons and loud television sets with the latest football games on
