"She started talking about how she creeped on Asian boys at the con and stalked a “hot Sasuke cosplayer” all around the con and declared him to be her husband." and the rest of the story.... HOLY SHIT! o.o I'm happy and fine with guys who, you know, are "overexcited" (But they know where the line is, well like myself) over anime but that's just... Seriously! What the hell do you even call that? That girl probably needs some help!
In short my 15 year old companion decided to go full fledged weeb and steal all the art's and stab me in the hand with a lino carving tool. (Oh and did I mention she believes she is the daughter of some chap called alucard from a show? and lets not forget the weird hentai art she hung up around her room.)
Apparently I'm some kind of weaboo/wolfaboo/furry/child magnet. ;n;
Is it sad that I witnessed more or less the birth of this trend? I kind of fear I may have had a hand in starting it. My boyfriend and I were on one of those lightworker new age forums just trying to discuss philosophy in general with them. We met an actual competent astral traveler there and talked to her for a while. After a bit we gradually realized just how bat shit crazy she was and took all our theories and mutated them into crazy shit. Like we theorized about infinite realities and universes with her and how in strange ways it might even be possible for some of them to mirror what's considered science fiction in this one. She took it to mean she was the reincarnation of various anime characters like Rukia from Bleach, Tsuwhateverthefuck from Naruto I think it was, oh she was also Marilyn Monroe, Helen of Troy and she's also Queen of the entire fucking multiverse on the soul level so we should do whatever she says.
She ended up gaining a cult following and we gave up trying to talk sense into any of them after a while. Another guy she met self dubbed Methatron/ Mystogan (Fairy Tail) followed her for a bit then broke off deciding she was insane and started his own cult following that centered on finding "past lives" of it's members from various animes characters they liked. As far as I know he has a group of 14-13 year old boys/ girls from an Australian school who follow him. He's 30-40 I think.
Seriously when I think about it a lot of belief systems/ religions only really exist because the individuals are made to think they're special or somehow above all others the eyes of some other powerful entity.
