Today is the release date, so you'll get it on Friday the soonest.

Today, after more than 20 years, is the release date of the final part of the Wheel of Time series. I have been looking forward to this book for years and was actually nervous about receiving it today.

But then I got the great news that the web shop I ordered it at has pushed their release date to the 11th. And none of the book stores I called had it in stock.

Jesus Henriette Christ on a tricycle, what is wrong with this country? It's not as if I live in a small town either that doesn't have English books anyway, they have a gigantic English fantasy collection including all the other parts of the series. It went like this with the previous parts too, it was nowhere to get on the goddamn release date.

Why can't I, just this once for the final part, get it on the release date? What did I do to deserve this?

I am going to throw such a huge hissy fit that I might be arrested. Good bye.

I'm sort of glad I gave up on the Wheel of Time series. Especially after the Finnish publisher decided to give all the fans the middle finger by not releasing the books Sanderson wrote to complete the series. Not that it's surprising given that they turned the first 11 English books into 25 books in Finnish. Damn greedy bastards.

Oh yeah, I heard they did that in Germany too, completely retarded. I started on the Dutch books (my English wasn't of a sufficient level when I read the first book) and then they switched publisher and the books changed in size and cover and it make me foam at the mouth at how retarded it looked on my book shelves. Eventually I got too impatient to wait for the translation and started getting the English ones.

I'm going to start on that series as soon as I'm finished with The Hitchhiker's Guid to the Galaxy~
Books 1-3 are already in my bookcase, waiting for me to pick it up and start with the first chapter.

Your local bookstore, if they are any sort of a quality bookstore, should have it. It may be sitting in a box in their back room.

They haven't. I called all of them, even the ones with a large collection of foreign (fantasy) books.

Shit, even Barnes and Noble? They should definitely have them. With a big name like that, they usually have it a week or so in advance (they can't sell them that early due to rules, of course)

They have all the other "popular" foreign books on the date of release. Harry Potter was sometimes even released before those dates because they broke the embargo.

That's why if there is anything I want on day 1, I preorder it. Too many times have I waited for something that I thought no one would want and it turns out everyone wants it. (Yet when I preorder something, apparently it is not that popular.)

I pre-ordered it in October. The books just aren't in stock because they never arrived yet so they don't deliver them.

Too much pointless gore and porn, it feels more like something to "shock" than to actually tell a good story. I did really like Danaerys' story line but in the series it doesn't really get much attention.

It's horrible, I've waited for this book for almost ten years, and when I spend extra money on the fastest delievery (which was even more expensive than the book) I want it NOW!! :icontantrumplz:

Oh well, I've two days off the work and the weekend, so I'm going to make myself loads of coffee and mud chocolate cakes to enjoy with the book.
