Is there any way to block certain 'Categories' from showing up in 'Search' and 'New'?

I feel ill every time I see images from 'Taxidermy'.
It really ruins my whole experience of looking for new works to admire.
Instead of feeling inspired... I'm just left feeling sad...

The 'Help' section didn't really seem to have a solution for this kind of blocking.

...I don't know.
