Sleep Deprivation

:iconwyvernletdie:
WyvernLetDie Featured By Owner Dec 11, 2012  Student Writer
Coursework deadlines are a thing. I submitted at 9AM today; at that point I'd gone 49 hours without sleep. My clock's current at 57 hours and I doubt I'm getting any till the 64 mark.

So, the minor hallucinations are starting to kick in and get pretty consistent.

Anybody else on a similar run or have similar instances to share?

Holy shit :stare: I can barely function without one night of sleep. I don't even wanna imagine how much of a raging bitch I would be after....what did you say, 66 hours? Yeah. I'd either scream my head off at everyone or drown them in my tears.

Your mind will eventually knock itself out when you become sleep deprived enough, you will start hallucinating/ talking to yourself, and your efficiency/mental levels will plummet. =P

Are you going for a world record? Also, I was up for about two days.

I got a personal best (66 hours eventually), but the world record is something over 11 days. Scarily impressive.

No, because when I was in college I knew how to budget my time and study for tests so I didn't have to deal with missing massive amounts of sleep, which would have made me worse anyways.

If your university has a dormitory/residence hall, FIND A COUCH AND SLEEP ON IT.

My former Res Hall had the comfiest couches. :la:

Also, I know what it is to not have sleep. I get nightmares, so I force myself not to sleep rather often. I'll go between 30 and 40 hours with no sleep and then just up and pass out.

Well, you can go roughly 30 days without sleep, but I wouldn't let it get that far.
Poor thing, I hope you find time to sleep...

I remember hallucinating. They were fucked up. Though accompanied with an interesting calm. Seriously, I seen a decapitated head on top of my bin ( it needed emptying :P ) and I just accepted it.

Nah... I've been running on a heavy sleep debt all year due to a constantly changing work shedule (I've gone 1st to 3rd to 1st to 2nd to 3rd and will be going back to 2nd at Xmastime - but this time it will be permanent - never more than 2 months on a shift :stare:).

My current record is somwhere around 40ish hours. I really REALLY wish I didn't have to sleep. Seriously. It may be enjoyable but it wastes so much time.

Yeah, you need to take naps!! Build in nap time. If you don't, you're being dumb! I stay up 'all night' whenever I need to, but I get rest leading up to it and I take 1 or more 45-2hr naps.

Just don't procrastinate that much. I procrastinate at school but the longest I've worked was from 6am to 3am. :) I then got 3 hours of sleep and got up and started again the next day. It was not too bad. You can do it. Plus, as long as you plan everything out, you should be fine.

Let's be rational here, it takes an average of 254 hours of constant awake-ness to kill. I have work to do, mostly brought on by myself, but soon I'll be at a friends house, and he has beef stew.

It gets better, right??

Right?

There have been plenty of folk dying after 50 hours without sleep. Could be the lack of sleep or the game they were playing, but you're doing yourself more harm than good doing this.
