I've been thinking too much. Alternately: Why I think Reggie Fils-Aime is utterly worthless to Ninty

In light of recent events, I've decided to finally make this complaint.

I'm incredibly biased when it comes to this, so be forewarned.

I've been sitting back on the sidelines, watching the incredibly silly decisions that Nintendo has been making in recent times.

Now I realize these decisions mostly aren't his fault, but I've been wondering since he became president of NOA, just how much use is Reggie and his "Food Marketing" background.

Mainly, I over-thought things, and realized there aren't any factors in making food marketable.
Taste and edibility are questionable factors at best, or McDonalds and Taco Bell would have gone the way of the dodo.

Looks, style, and smell don't matter, for similar reasons above. Price isn't handled by marketing, so I came to the conclusion that food marketing is mostly a braindead job.

More questionable still is why Reggie would seek to leave such a cushy deadend job, and why Nintendo even accepted him.

Was money involved or exchanged? Did he bribe his way in?

I don't know. The point of this complaint is: Why is a man from food marketing in a job that requires more brainpower than Princess Peach's voiceactor?

Reggie's pretty stupid....I mean, why on earth would you want to leave food marketing for a job for a company with the whiniest and self-entitled customers out there?

If not whiniest, why would you go to a company where consumers bootlick and kiss arse? And then rely on said arsekissing and bootlicking as 'valid feedback' as stated with the MiiVerse being used as a place of feedback? What kind of idiot goes within their own userbase for feedback?

Wait...you think Nintendo's consumers bootlick and kiss arse?

I take it you've never experienced most of video game companies' feedback is...right?

Yes and no; but I've often asked why they've put up such poor quality games on Club Nintendo and looked at the ratings.

so what you're saying is that marketing fast food, which you seem to say has no redeeming qualities, is a job for retards.  that doesn't really add up.

if the merits of the product aren't on the surface than it takes something really fucking clever to sell it to people...

No, all it takes is an incredibly cheap price.

Its very simple: I agree with those who say the Wii-U is a worthless gimmick, I don't like the President of NOA, and I find it questionable to have a programmer as a CEO of NOJ.

... Okay, that time I understood Wii-U being a dumb gimmick.

Which it is.

Well people made a meme about him, like that "Kevin Butler" guy from Sony, so he seems to be helping the sales. He's just a face that reminds people of Nintendo, and sometimes that is enough to sell things. If he wasn't liked, he'd probably be fired by now.

Plus, I'm not sure what his complete job requirements are.

Why question it? He's pretty much there to sell shit, like most company presidents. And he must be doing a good job, because NOA is selling shit faster than something that sells shit fast(I know that's bad but get over it).

Certainly; but how? It doesn't seem to be sold by his hand, and the Wii-U has yet to even find a general targetability.

By being Reggie, I can't explain it. And the Wii-U has sold pretty well in America, so I don't think anyone at NOA is really worried about finding a general targetability yet.

I think otherwise; as if only 1.5 games are being sold for it per system at this point, that isn't making up for the cost of production.

Hmm, true. Even if it does turn out to be a financial flop, I don't think it'll hit Nintendo hard. They'll just scrape together some cash, release yet another DS varient, and push out sequels, remakes, and reboots of their various series. And people will eat it up.

Oh, I don't think it'll be a total flop, but I am hoping it reeks enough to push Nintendo back towards tradition.

Reggie is kind of weird, to be honest. He's so serious, but he works for Nintendo and they usually have him come on stage after Miyamoto which is like a mood whiplash.

And I also have to question why they have genius programmer Iwata as president of NOJ. He shouldn't be a manager, he should be crunching code and doing miracle works.

Because Nintendo is one of the oldest gaming companies still in business and they've proven that they don't need to worry because people will buy their stuff regardless it seems.
