Spanish is a fucking cool language. You have no idea how amazing it is to be able to read Spanish literature in the language itself. It's so amazingly satisfying and interesting.
That said, high school Spanish sucks balls. When you go to college, assuming it's a good one, the classes are way better. Or take a few months during the summer to do an immersion program, they're great and you learn a lot.
Spanish is not for take-over you fucking dumbass. Spanish is learned so when you go to a spanish-speaking country, you know what the fuck you're getting yourself into. Spanish is also the base for learning other romantic languages. I am a native spanish speaker and I learned french easily because most of the terms are similar as well as sentence structure.
You are just a stupid kid who is BAWWWing because he got an F on his spanish quiz. Please. I've seen TREES smarter than you.
The grammar is, especially when you look at more complex sentences. English isn't that strict here mostly as far as I can tell. Trust me, I know a few German speakers who still have troubles with it. XD
I grew up on the border to Portugal. I could understand everything they said when I assumed they were French people speaking Spanish. My brain then corrected-out the "accent" and I could get it enough to watch Portuguese TV and films without issue.
Well, in college a foreign language class is considered a Humanities course. Humanities courses are to help you understand the world better. Foreign languages don't just teach you a different language, but it also teaches you about a different culture.
In my college it's required that you took 2 years of foreign language in High School. You're required to take a Humanities course or two. I would have taken Mandarin or Russian, but neither of those are offered here.
When I say I know a little Japanese, I mean LITTLE. I know how to ask what do you like and what time is it, but that's the extent of my knowledge. XD Good to see another user learning the language though.
