A lack of inspiration is a most dreadful damnation...

Hello, Complaints, it's been a while
I guess I've been quite cheery
But today my mind has given up
And left me feeling weary

I usually use my way with words
To hash out my frustrations
So when writer's block gives me a bitch-slap
It rocks my poor foundations

I've had six coffees, two Red Bulls
A pack of cigarettes
(At two o' clock in the afternoon
I feel I can't drink yet)

These tried-and-tested tools of thought
For once are no avail
As soon as I lift my pen from the desk
My fervour falters, fails

So here I am, I've come to whine
I lack what I value most
And I can't even get the meter right
On a fucking forum post.

My laptop doesn't want to charge and I don't know what's wrong with it. I do have another computer, a netbook, but I want to use my laptop! :crying:

Is the light on the charger on? Does your laptop recognise the charger being plugged in ?

No for both questions. Before, I had to straighten out the cord because there seemed to be something wrong with the wiring. I think I need a new charger. It's the same one that came with my now four year old laptop. :/

To be sure, you mean the light that is on the charger, not the one on the laptop, right?

If it's the light on the actual charger, than you definitely need to replace the charger.Chargers break easily

There is no light on the charger, only on the laptop. It's a specific one that indicates it's charging or plugged in. Even if that light doesn't work, the screen gets brighter when it's plugged in and that isn't happening either.

The battery is about six months old, so it's probably not that. I think it's the charger and I can probably wait to get a replacement some time early next year. My netbook has most of the important files I need, so it's not much of a problem.

Oh, ASUS chargers have a light in the charger to tell that it's plugged in.

What you describe could be multiple problems.

This laptop is an HP and the netbook is a Lenovo. The Lenovo's charger doesn't have a light either.

Does the surge-protector box on the cord get hot when you plug it in? If so, there's most likely a short between said box and the laptop-port. If not, then the short's between the outlet and the box.
Either way, you're probably best off getting a replacement charger. I'm on my third one now.

Seriously, if you're having writer's block, go do something else. Maybe an idea will come to you rather than forcing it and having a really shitty, half-assed idea. =p
