dA was so much better five minutes ago

The art was like perfect and everything, but now it's all junk--oh wait I switched from Popular to Newest :eyes:

tl;dr: people who are convinced everything was better in the old days need to learn about how memory works.

I think people who say dA was better years ago have a point, but most of the time it's just rose-tinted whining. :B

The smaller community was better in some ways, but saying the site actually functioned better is just dumb.

God, this mentality pisses me off. There's one artist here that I know who left in a haze of butthurt a few years back and was all 'What happened dA? I though Deviantart was a community where artists come together...well, that's what it was when I joined 4 years ago. Now its home to trolls and people who hate' and I just laugh because the internet in general has never been without trolls or drama, and that includes DA. Anyone who thinks otherwise is as gullible as shit.

Also, I lol hard at people who assume that DA is a professional community. Yes, you look very mature to potential employers when your bitchin' art is up next to anime and porn. haha

Improving is natural, but as artist, I believe that there is no satisfaction for themselves, regular jobs are boring on my point of view.

I guess it is an embedded character of an artist to improve on interest and jobs (regular) is a strain.

Yeah, man. dA was totally better before everyone got deviation thumbnails in their message centre, we couldn't organise our galleries, and our profiles were completely un-customisable.

Oh, wait.

I haven't been here long enough to say whether it was 'better' back then or whatever. But I saw this deviation of a collage of all of dA's previous formats and well... I gotta say they keep getting better. :dummy:
