I hadn't ever really heard of him before all this shit, but when the news announced his death that day the first thing I thought upon seeing the footage of him was: 'He looks like a child molester'. Not a very nice thing to think of a recently deceased person but I guess I can get away with it on this instance.

Surely like a gym teacher or someone in a position who works with children?

The image of your speaking of is something fabricated by the media to get at people like gypsies or someone who generally isn't attractive.

Usually when a pedophile is incarcerated or exposed they become what the media paints of them which extends the myth:

My ex knows more about it, but she was dumb and didn't understand the full mechanics why, so I researched further. Turns out self loathing and no understanding by anyone on the planet (even murderers are understood these days) a sex offender has no future even after being released.

It really, really is. A TV show I really like had a big joke about Jim'll Fix It in its first series, and now the whole scene just gives me intensely bad vibes. D:
