I haven't had a period in 6 years. Before that it was so faint you would of probably laughed at me and told me to die. 2 days maybe, and they were light. I felt uncomfortable and not so happy, but I appreciate not being in agony. My cousin on the other hand had awful periods.
Still, I hope it gets better, if your medication is to blame can you change?
Did you know you can burn your insides if you use an electric pillow, but a hot water bottle works I too have realized that on my period my pain progresses down towards my thys and it is very painful to stand.

I'm the same as you - used to be cramp free 'til recently. Unfortunately, I get front-side cramps one month and then back-cramps the next. Cannot decide which are worse. Probably back, you can't curl up in fetal position as well.

I don't have to deal with cramps because when I feel even an inkling of pain, my brain goes " I ain't got to take that shit from you, Body." and drowns it out with painkillers, whereupon my body goes ""
Instead of just sitting there, you should do something that distracts you from the pain. If you're just sitting there all miserable and thinking "oh god the pain", it actually does feel worse. I personally find walking around kind of useful. Or just keeping myself busy. If my period starts on the weekend, I always feel like I'm going to die, because I just get to lie around, you know. But if it's a schoolday, I just take a painkiller and suck it up. And I actually don't feel nearly as miserable, when I'm busy being in class and thinking about other stuff.
