I've been having phantom pains in various teeth since I was at the dentists'. Makes no sense, since she did x-rays and everything looked perfectly fine. Sheer nerves on my part. Conclusion: I'm an idiot.
Teeth are such a bitch My wisdom teeth are still trying to grow in and apparently are growing in sideways, god damn my narrow jaw. I might set up an appointment to get them removed during winter break. I won't have a reason to be particularly active by then and I will actually be able to relax.
Tonguing chipped teeth is I think one of my guilty pleasures. It's only happened twice, but I loved it both times. I still wanted it fixed, but I liked to tongue it. The part I didn't like was that both times I chipped my teeth, it was on soft granola bars.
I had one close a complsint thread because it didn't promote discussion, even thought the rule linked states: "Threads need to start a discussion, ask a question, and/or be relevant to the Forum you are posting in." "and/or" not necessarily both. My complaint was a complaint, and thus relevant to the forum.
I inquired politely by note as to why, and have been ignored for over a month.
Be thankful that it didn't get down to the nerve. I've never chipped a tooth but it shouldn't be too terribly expensive if you have any form of insurance (I'm not sure how it works in your country). I can, however, tell you about root canals.
The root canal itself actually isn't that bad because you're all numbed up. It just sucks holding your jaw open for an hour and half, and thinking about them drilling through and excavating your tooth. It's just that the infection that causes you to need a root canal is one of the worst pains ever, seriously.
Yeah, luckily I took an antibiotic that made the infection go down enough that it didn't hurt. Though the dentist did still have to drill the tooth, leave medicine inside with a temp filling, and had me come back in 2 weeks.
It's just such a relief that I don't have to worry about that tooth at all anymore. I used to constantly get toothaches until it led to an infection...
Luckily I now have dental insurance for the first time in 8 years!
I feel you on the chipped tooth. I chipped mine like...a year ago? And it's one of the front ones so I tongue it ALL the time. I can't wait until I go to the dentist eventually. They are going to cry at the state of my mouth.
