Pretty much everywhere I go, I see the same irrational statement: DIGITAL ART ISN'T ART!
...Really? Just because we have Photoshop to help advance ow the picture looks, doesn't mean it's cheating. Sure, digital art doesn't have as many flaws as traditional art and with traditional art, you're testing your limits and such with tools that are more or less expensive that you buy at the store.
But digital art, believe it or not, is art. Most companies such as: Video Gaming industries, Advertisement, Comic book studios, Animated shows/movies, etc. All use digital art.
Saying it isn't art is just plain stupid to be honest. Art doesn't have to do with the tools you use but rather the talent you posses and skill to put it in a form.
I apologize for this as I'm sure it's been written before. It's hard to believe people can be so...naive.
If anyone said my digital art "wasn't art" I would punch them in the fucking face. It's taken me hours upon hours, sometimes days, to do digital pieces. It takes a lot of skill and practice to succeed in it. Sure if people are just changing the contrast in a photo, or doodling something on Paint, I can see how others might not find that very artistic. But the real work that goes into most digital art is intense. And besides, with a tablet, it's just like drawing on paper anyway. It's not like we push a button that says "Magic Cheat" and poof, a drawing appears
