Spoiled Brats...

:iconcynthiakat:
~Cynthiakat Aug 8, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
I visited my cousins recently and it's just insane how they get whatever they want whenever they want.

They're two little girls (one who hasn't even finished kindergarden yet and the other is only into Grade 2) and they have the most expensive brand name clothes ever. ._. I swear, they make me look like a bum and I'm twice--no almost triple their age. The older girl was going on about how she loves to wear high heels and showed me these sunglasses that costed over sixty dollars. She was showing me these shoes in a store that looked almost slanted at a 90 angle and claimed that her mom will be getting those for her. O.O

They aren't humble at all. They love to brag to everyone they meet about their purses (yes, their purses that costs probably eighty dollars that carry freaking fruit-scented lip gloss and bright pink nail polish). They have a snooty attitude and throw a tantrum everytime someone proves them wrong or doesn't take them to their favourite store at the mall.

Now, I know it's not the girls' fault. It's obviously the foolish parents that have been spoiling them since birth. The parents themselves, however, appear to be very humble (well, sort of).

What ticked me off the most was the fact that the older girl has a freaking Apple MacBook Pro that costs 1,700 dollars. I nearly flipped when I heard this. I'm saving up for a MacBook myself (and I'm still nowhere near that kind of money) because I'm stuck using some ancient dinosaur computer. At first when she told me she had a laptop I assumed it was one of those educational toy laptops that teach you your ABC's or some crap like that. But then her father confirmed it was a legit laptop and I was really close to snapping. I've been working hard for money and to think they got one of the best laptops just like that and they've only just started Elementary school. Apparantly they'll be getting an iPad soon as well.

It's truly disgusting to see this. I can't imagine what they'd be like when they're fifteen or something.

Oh god yes, its awfull......my neighbor kid is like that, she gets everything she want and oh crap can she through a temper, she screams and screams until she gets what she want....seriously, I want to slap that kid in her face for being like that O.o

Everytime my mom walks in our garden that child want to trow a ball, you know, like trowing over, but sometimes my mom has no time ( when shes working in the garden for example) and then she gets so angry, how disgusting O.o
I have refrained from any contact with that kid, because ugh....I cant stand children like that, and the sad thing is, last year she was still so sweet :ohnoes:

But it does seem to be the new generation.....i'm seeing it everywhere....its the new type of pareting, where you cant scold you kid, cant say anything negatieve and let them do whatever they want so you dont meddle with their own creative mind.
What a bunch of bullcrap, kids need to be diciplined, and learn how to listen just like dogs! ( I hate dogs that dont listen >.> )

It's the next generation!

It's so weird.. I'm not going to say that it's "people don't know how to parent" but I REALLY want to ^^;

I babysat a lot of my family including this one boy (my nephew) who I love dearly but..on his 4th birthday he got a PSP..... a freaking PSP!!!
I'm like nearly 5 times his age and I don't even have one to this day!
And guess what? he broke it! surprise surprise

but that was not what got me... no. It was the fact that his mom got it replaced!! with a Nintendo DS and 7 games =__=. And he's got a room like you wouldn't believe!
Yet she's in a money bind and is wondering how she got there! She's having difficulties getting him into school now and is asking ME for money!
His "favorite aunty".

I honestly don't understand why a small child needs a laptop. Or eighty-dollar shoes.

They'll never learn to appreciate the money like this.

I've always hated it when my parents spend money on me. I remember when I was seven, I saw them spend over $100 on groceries at Sam's Club and the huge number freaked the hell out of me. Now I get that it's groceries and it's fine, but them spending a lot at once still scares me. Not that they do, not that they don't understand finance - they run their own business, after all - but seeing that big number on a receipt scares me.

Anyone else feel like that?

I strongly dislike when these sort of things happen. You can't put all the blame on the kids, but you can't put all the blame on the parents. The kids are probably just so proud and happy that they can't keep it to themselves, but the parents need to stop spoiling them. She's only in 2nd grade, she doesn't need a laptop yet! Just try to ignore their boasting.

I really think it's just someone bitching about how a member of their family is better off and they aren't.

I'm still using an e Machine form 2002, and a PS2 with a broken solder joint, so I have to yank the wire up to power the thing.

My Aunt is a secret shopper AND runs a daycare.

She rakes in money like it isn't anyone business, and she's the only one in my Mom's family that OWNS a house, my other 2 aunts live in apartments like I do.

I cousin has TWO 3DS's (why two I'll never know,) but it never really bugs me, because I'm happy with what I have.

I only get $50 every Christmas form my parents, and I'm always happy with it.

TD;DR You're obviously not as humble as you think you are, If you feel you deserve things just because someone else has them.

That's called Envy, my friend.

That's when you pull the old man monologue whenever they talk about their stuff.

"...Ah... I remember when I was your age and I found a frog. I'd fashion myself a net with tree bark and chameleon tongues and amuse myself for hours forcing struggling flies down its throat. I accidentally ripped its larynx out and killed it, though. We had a feast at home that night. Then that's how I started making my money, selling pseudo-natural medicine that was actually ground up frog liver to gullible tourists. Eventually I saved up enough money to buy a rusty bike from a man who was being chased down by the Cuban government, and began peddling fruit from our orchards to the city. Soon, thanks to me, we got enough money to get a generator. We didn't have light bulbs, though, so we'd use dried bark and live wires to start a fire that would keep the wolves away from our thatched-roof house, then we'd fall asleep to the sound of whoever was on guard fighting off the Alpha male who was trying to kill our sheep, and speaking of which, let me tell you about the time I had to help a pregnant sheep give birth to a lamb..."

Seriously, though. Kids like that are everywhere. I've had to deal with 'em, too. You can't change them, really. Just stay away from them whenever possible. And avoid talking to them whenever you can. All their bragging will do is tick you off more than it already has.

Makes me think of two spoiled brats my sister and I knew as kids. Their family was in an unusual situation though; their father was a brain surgeon, and wealthy, but they had a brother who with the most severe form of Autism (couldn't talk, wore diapers, etc.). On top of that, their parents had a horrible marriage that ended in divorce. Not the best environment to grow up in.

As a kid, I liked "Billy" and "Mandy", but even then they could grind my gears. My sister sometimes played with us, but often didn't, because she saw their obnoxiousness earlier than I did. They were always fighting over idiotic things--things that even my sister and I, at age 9,10, 11, whatever, saw were idiotic. (Like shouting angrily over who got to sit in which seat of the car, things like that). They also had no concept of things being breakable. Once when we were playing dress-up at our house, Mandy started bashing Billy with our pink fluffy fan, and wound up completely breaking it into flimsy shards, dangling from pink fluff. They made rude insulting comments at inappropriate times. But then their mother was rather a bitch, and their father has struck me as obnoxious at times, so I guess they learned from the best.

That being said, the last time I saw these kids, as teens/young adults, they seemed pretty normal. So maybe they just grew out of all that. I hope they did. I hope being away from their parents and brother will do them good. Overall, a REALLY depressing family story, now that I think of it.

If the economy stays crappy, just wait awhile. Let's see how long their money lasts.
