I was talking with one of my friends, Feral-Art, and I was complimenting him on an awesome art piece he did. But someone by the username I-Fave-Bad-Art, added the deviation to their favorites, and I want something done about it. They complain that they aren't doing anything wrong, and that there is no way that dA can ban them. People have tried standing up to him/her, but she/he just shoots back insults that really get to people. I don't know what to do anymore, I've read everything on their page....

The cops kicked my door down one time but they had the wrong address and they had to buy me a new door.

I don't know what the person they were actually after had done but there were a lot of them so I always guessed it was something real bad. Maybe they had said somebodies art was bad on the internet.

I read that, I'm still bracing for the impact. Maybe I'll go rummaging around and see if I can resurrect it.

Instead of using someone's insult on someone's art a bad thing, a person should think about why their art was called bad and use it as fuel to improve. Calling someone's art is bad is not bullying, it's giving an opinion based on that person's own aesthetic tastes. While that user went about it the wrong way, they are banned and it shouldn't matter what they think. Their purpose was to anger your friend and they succeeded in doing so, therefore winning in this situation. A way to combat that kind of behavior is to walk away with a better attitude and consider taking the steps to improve on one's work.

I agree that simply saying something is bad is useful, but people choose to ignore it because they aren't getting force fed ways to improve. Everyone is so used to be handed instruction and to follow it, I think they should be more open to investigating themselves as to why it is no good and learn from that experience.

Simply saying someone's art is bad without saying what is bad about it is pretty damn immature though.

It might be, but I can't stand people that won't really sit back and evaluate what might be wrong with their art instead of dwelling on one bad thing somebody said, mainly because I've done it to myself so many times.

If you want critique, find a source that isn't biased. If someone calls your art is bad and you can't take it, move on, regardless of how immature it is.

My art is a sensitive spot for me. I am the kind that instead overthinks it and comes to the conclusion that I will never be good enough. After a while I turn though and try harder to prove the person wrong in my mind.
