While these can be fun sometimes, there are some things that make them annoying:
The first is how old you feel. Yes, I remember playing Link to the Past on my cousin's SNES. Yes, I remember the Sega Genesis, and holding to the fact that Perfect Dark 64 was superior to Goldeneye. Yes, I remember the great television series of the 90's, and miss them dearly. I was an odd one that actually enjoyed high school, and my friends there, but DANG IT I FEEL LIKE AN OLD MAN!!! I'm still plowing through college, and already I've been around for four, going on five, presidents. I shouldn't be feeling this old.
The second, is the random nature of said nostalgia trips. What I mean is you have little control over what you remember, and some memories I would prefer to keep under the mat. I hate remembering embarrassing moments in my childhood that make me think, "Did I really do that?" It's even worse when these memories refuse to leave you alone for the rest of the day.
In conclusion: as nice as nostalgia trips can be, they have their downsides.
I miss my friends from highschool, and I miss being a kid and playing with toys and not having responsibilities... but... I look forward to my future regardless
"I hate remembering embarrassing moments in my childhood that make me think, "Did I really do that?""
Haha. I get this too. I facepalm at some of the stuff I did when I was a teenager. I can't even comprehend the thought process of some of the stupid stuff that I did.
Well, I decided to go back to Neopets, and then I feel extremley old as it was going on about 'the 10th anniversary of Meridell and the Ixi pet' then I remember being there when they started the Meridell plot and brought out the pets. I hate being made to feel old, I'm only 20 D:
Bawww, why'd you have to bring Neopets and Meridell up? >< I remember that, too, and now I feel old. I can't believe it's even...a thing, still anymore. I thought Meridell was just going to be another addition to the map with the Ixi being just another pet. But apparently, they're both a big deal if their anniversaries are being celebrated.
Yeah, I'm suprised how the site is still going pretty strong. It has changed a lot though, I don't like how they've added in 'premimum content' as I remember that being one of the things that they said they'd never do. But then, they did get brought out by Viacom. :/ The first time I left wasn't long after that. Oh and there's I think at least five new pets now and three or so new lands that got added in.
