Short complaint about parks

There's a very nice small park near my school. It's open to the public - but teenagers and people in their 20's can't stay there for longer than passing through. There's this nasty, for lack of a better term, "Machine That Goes PING!" on streetlamps nearby that emits a terribly annoying sound every now and then only audible to the young. This is so cantankerous young people can't loiter and cause trouble, lest they get a splitting headache.

So, no problems with unsavory characters in this welcoming park environment, right?

Too bad it's filled with angry homeless older people, drinking out of paper bags, feeding the pigeons, and yelling at passersby for not giving them money. They don't hear the sound at all.

I think the park district has its priorities a bit backward.

The ping sounds are a necessary evil. The rest of us are sick and tired after generations, of public places being occupied by gangs of shit head hipsters who threaten everyone and have no respect. Fuck them. Fuck teenagers especially. "Waaaaa look at me Ima sooo kool with my ipod and attitude I'm so jaded! Cuz I got these new cloths mommy bought for me and no job cuz i'm too kool!"
No thanks. I think a pinging sound isn't loud enough. It should be a fog horn.

If the authorities that be are blatantly trying to alter your behavior, treating you like common lab rats by blasting high-frequency squeals in a public park, can you blame the kids lacking of respect for you? Fuck the park district, now and forever!

P.S. The machine that goes PING is actually better than most music that comes out today, and would make an awesome ambient album. Perfect music for public places, because I heard they also pipe in muzak at certain place to stop kids from loitering. That sucks too.

They tried to introduce that ringing noise in the UK four or five years ago (If they actually did, I haven't heard it around, though), but the kids just recorded it and made it their ringtones. It was the most annoying thing ever in class, since some of the older teachers just flat out believed it was possible so some douche would play it at top volume for the whole lesson.

are the young people even causing trouble or disruptive behaviour, or are the just there and in a circle so they must be a gang and hugely intimidating to old people.

Even if adults can't hear the noise, it's still affecting them. Sustained exposure to those frequencies can cause "mysterious"/"unexplainable" headaches in adults.

same fucking shit here man. the bus station has that fucking ringing high pitched shit after dark, like the hobos can actually hear it so they can't sleep there, yeah fucking right.

and pigeons, don't get me started on the fucking pigeons. we have a courtyard area at the entrance to the building, and if i so much as see a pigeon git within 5 feet of the fence it's getting a rock thrown at it. fucking assholes in the big park across the street feed them all the time and it makes me rage.

and going to the convenience store down the street? i wear headphones even if i don't have music playing just so i have an excuse to ignore the fucking beggar pricks. today this guy was really friendly as i parked my bike, just said hi, so i said hi back, and he fucking goes off about how his life sucks. i straight up told him, "i'm not helping you with, or giving you anything."

my friend who doesn't live downtown always feels bad for the people and asks me why i am so cold to them. i tell her to look at their arms, they aren't going to buy any food, and if i ever offer to buy them something, they just want the money. fuck that, if i felt bad for these junkies i would go even broker than i already am.
