Janis Joplin and the people who hate her.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with them? I have a couple of friends who actually despise Joplin. How the hell does that thought even exist? She is an amazing singer, so god damned soulful. I get it if you they were to say, "I like Big Brother and the Holding Company more than Joplin's solo stuff." I have a friend who is like this, but to out and out hate her?

No! Fuck that! What makes it worse is that these friends like Cat Power, Adele, and a couple of other contemporary female singers. But these god damned people all sound the same! Joplin at the VERY least had an original voice. Not like all these cunts who sound the same. You could replace any one of them with another and nobody would even know. In fact, I played "I've Been Thinking" by The Handsome Boy Modeling School for a friend who is in fucking love with Cat Power, and he didn't even know it was her on the god damned track.

This would never fucking happen with Joplin. You put on a Joplin song, and right when the vocals start you know it's her.

I also don't get people who go, "But she is so ugly!" First of all, shut the fuck up, you shallow cock bag. Second of all, who gives a shit, you shallow cock bag? Third, bullshit, her personality and talent MORE than make up for her looks (which aren't even lacking, god dammit!), you shallow cock bag.

tl;dr: Joplin haters piss me off, especially when they like those no talent cunts around today, who all sound exactly the same.

Bonus complaint: I have a head ache and the pain killers aren't working.

I called my mother to wish her a happy mother's day, she told me she was dying from shame over because of my older brother.

I'm surprised the youth of today even know who she is let alone hate her.
I haven't heard her yet.

You should probably listen to her then.

Yeah, probably. I have heard very little of music older than the 80s so I think I will listen to a bit more.
But honestly, today's youth know so little. I was in a class once that probably couldn't name any popular act not in the top 40 in the present, let alone an old act. They didn't know who Arcade Fire were.

Fuck Arcade Fire's music. They're music is shitty. In terms of contemporary music, I think the only acts I listen to that are mainstream would be The Gorillaz and Daft Punk. Gnarles Barkley haven't released an album in 4 years, although Cee Lo said last year that another album is coming out this year, so I'm excited for that.

But I mostly listen to older music or underground hip hop. Flying Lotus's Cosmogramma has taken me for a spin a number of times. I remember when I first heard the damn thing, I went, "What the fuck? This isn't Flying Lotus. At least not the Flying Lotus I know." But the more I listened the more the album grew on me, to the point where I'm spinning it at least once a day.

I don't listen to them so much now. I'm getting a bit meh about Daft Punk. They seem to have retired.

Daft Punk did do Tron's soundtrack. They had some good stuff on there. I like Daft Punk, but as I said, Flying Lotus, in terms of electronic, takes the cake. I've been obsessed with FlyLo since I first heard Parisian Goldfish (whose music video I cannot link to because it can be considered pornographic). The reason I watched it is because it was directed by Eric Warheim and featured animations by Devin Flynn.
