Stupid Banks

My dad got a bunch of money with the aid of my uncle's accountants, so he wants to give me a good chunk of it to pay off my student loans. My government loans total roughly $11,000.

The bank only lets him transfer $3000 a day or something. WTF. It's his money, I don't get why there's all these shitty restrictions. Me too, I can only withdraw a maximum of $4000 a day, which became a problem when I went to pay for my $5000 car a couple months ago.

Fucking banks. I can pay bills up to $999,999 but I can't fucking send money to a relative, or receeve money from a relative? I don't get it. It's not like either of us have child's accounts. :<

I can't put money into my TFSA either. I get not being able to take money out, because the point is to put it in and let it gain interest, but why can't I add to it? ARGH. Banks! :shakefish:

there are LEGITIMATE reasons why banks cap daily withdrawals and transfers, it's for your own protection. if someone got into the account and there was no limit on daily transfers, all that money could be siphoned out of the account in seconds...how can you complain about this??

Because if I'm standing there at the bank, photo is in hand, those limits serve no purpose and are stupid.

well of course not, but the things that are meant to help us out aren't always the most convenient unfortunately

for example, the bank on campus at my college can't give you money (ridiculous i know) so i wanted to deposit part of a 20, i couldn't, i could only deposit the whole thing. you can only get money from the atm there. the reason is to protect the tellers from any postal students in need of cash. i was mad, but hey i understand what they're doing, even though it sucks sometimes
