Lol. I had to google "Llama badge" to see what it was. I am not exactly savvy at the DA stuff, for some reason the format confuses me.....Annnnnnyhoooo.
I saw someone called LlamaWhore had sent me a llama badge, which didn't seem that strange given the username. When I checked in again I noticed there was another one from a non-llama-affiliated username. I was delighted to discover that I too can send Llamas, my only disappointment was that Llamas had been chosen over Alpacas which are far funnier than Llamas.
I signed im, and went to my page. On the left-hand side of my page, about half the size of my finger nail, is a picture of a llama.
Besides that, my page looks EXACTLY like it did the last time I signed in.
Why exactly do you think this tiny llama picture is supposed to be so obvious to someone who isn't looking for it? Especially when I don't sit and look at my profile page anyways - I click on "messages" and start checking out deviations.
Llama badges were introduced in this year's April Fools Day. It was meant to some silly activity, but the popularity of it skyrocketed so much that the admins have made it a permanent thing.
The aim of it is to get as many llama badges as possible in order to upgrade your llama. If you give a llama, you get a llama if the person you gave it to participates. There's the normal llama that you start off with, which becomes a super llama, then an albino llama, then a super albino llama... etc...
If you collect 100,000 golden llamas, you get the golden llama badge, which is the highest upgrade.
I don't bother with it, but it's fun towards some people, but as annoying as heck to others.
On facebook, people can send you stuff. On your profile page, you can see "so-and-so sent you a (fill in the blank here)". An egg, a picture, flowers, mafia guns, whatever. I used to get tons of those. Then I found the option that makes it so I don't see those any more.
Again, I've been away from DA for a while. Apparently, you can now send llama badges. I assumed you could send other stuff as well.
