I'm baaack...
I think this issue (Galleries-That-Keep-Repeating-the-Same-Images) goes far deeper than I originally imagined. I assumed that the 'hiccup' in the system was maybe the result of the two most recent 'System-Is-Down-for-Maintenance' episodes over the weekend. I even (perhaps foolishly) assumed that today's changes solved the problem.
I've just spent a couple of hours (as I am wont to do daily and sometimes thrice) merrily probing the burgeoning and bloated bowels of DA in search of those most rare and precious artifacts: 'Art-That-I-Really-Like'.
Having already experienced one 'Endless Rerun' glitch, I have been much more observant of the way images are displayed. Even if you do NOT have your settings at 120 images per page, you may have also taken note of the fact that (despite 55 MILLION entries and THOUSANDS more each day), you can't scan more than a few hundred in any category (Specifically the New Deviations) before certain images start repeating over and over. How can this be? Taking into account the time I spend commenting on and 'faving' certain entries, I should be able to scan the New images continuously without EVER seeing the same image twice.
I'm not a network expert by ANY stretch of the imagination; but common sense tells me that something is NOT as it is being promoted.
Perhaps DA has overgrown its capabilities to organize and manage its artistic assets (he said 'ass-ets' Is it time to break this unwieldy leviathan into smaller, more easily manageable parts like, say: Deviant Ass-n-Tits Division, Deviant Prose and Poetry, DevianTOONS, Deviant-Naruto-Having-Sex-With-Pointy-Eared-Big-Breasted-Anthro-Babes-While-Engaged-In-Fierce-Swordplay Department, Et Cetera Ad Infinitum, Amen!
