Okay given my religion isn't the epitome of a people who respect others beliefs, acting like a total hypocrite isn't winning you any points.

Mostly I'm sick of people going on and on "OMG IT'S BECAUSE IT'S JUST A FAIRY TALE AND ANYONE WHO BELIEVES THAT IS AN IDIOT" and then criticizing Christianity as being an intolerant religion. That's not a double standard right there. And it kind of answers my concerns about why some Christians are so intolerant. Why be tolerant of people who can't even remain consistent with themselves. There's a lot of things in Christianity that all Christians (even the ones who don't do it) are criticized for and yet the rest of the world does it as well.

I think that fundies should apply to stupid atheists too. But all atheists are super intelligent right? Obviously they can never have an idiotic, closed minded opinion about anything. :roll:

Fundamentalism is not a term that is solely applied to religion. Anybody who believes in anything strongly enough will criticize whatever threatens the status quo.

An interesting example is how a physicist will scream "impossible!" if you mention over-unity or perpetual motion.

I'm not talking about fundamentalism neccesarilly. A fundie is slang, almost like a racial slur except not offensive because it's about a person's personality. I always assumed it to mean anyone who's overly closed-minded, but most people just apply it to religious fanatics.

Just be tolerant of their intolerance and whoop da wee. Without intolerance, it wouldn't be fun believing in something since there's no charm...no danger to having something that isn't tested against.
