As you'd all be aware it's getting harder and harder to get some good critique here on deviantart. People are afraid to give it. So I was thinking that joining a club, the main aim of which would be to get members to offer each other constructive criticism. Problem is, I can't find one that's still active. The few I've come across seem to have died of inactivity.

Does anybody know of an active critique club here on DA? One that won't look down on me for being an anime artist? I'd dearly love to start my own, but being a music student at university I sadly don't have the time.

For the record, I've posted once of ConceptART and was treated very nicely. But I still can't help feeling slightly... Intimidated when I'm there. ^^;

I'm sure there has to be people around that would love to get critique. I know I would, specially from people that actually have experience. The people here always say "Wow that looks good" even when I see a problem. :P I'm sure if you look around hard enough there will be people interested in forming a group, if there isn't one already around. I'm interested myself. I'm just starting to get my work up though.

Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you are right.

I've had this problem too, either the club is completely dead or is limited to only a certain style of art.

You can always start your own, I'd be more than happy to join or help you run the club since I'm also looking for a good source of critique on Deviantart. you can note me if you decide to start one so I can join ^.^

I don't know of any active ones, but if you find one or decide to start one, I'd like to join, too.

Ditto. I haven't seen any active critique clubs, but if you started one or something I'd love to join. :)

A critique club is something I'd love to join too.

Fantastic idea. There was one a while ago, but it's dead now. If you start one up, I'd join in a second.

I'm with you on this!

I love love love criticism and I'm sad of the fact there isn't enough of it on this site. No matter how hard I try to get it, I get the simple "this looks good" or "wow" comments that offer you no chance of improving. The thing I love most about criticism is the fact it gets you to look at your picture again, go through it and consider the things told to you. You grow that way and find new ways of thinking and I'm really sad I don't have that opportunity here. *shakes hear head*

I know! I have a real problem with drawing one eye crooked in anime (I've only just started drawing humans again) but if it hadn't been pointed out I wouldn't know that I needed to fix it. It's so helpful. :D We need more of it here.
