Has any one got any advice on creating a portfolio?
Maybe useful tips, little tricks, presentation ideas that sort of thing?
Thanks

Ah the saying, "if life gives you lemons make lemonade" What happens if you don't like lemonade? Or if you don't know the recipe? If life gave ME lemons i think i'd say "And what the hell is this" and throw them back. More satisfying that way...
umm if your still in highschool they might offer a class to help you. i know at my school they have studio art where you actually build your portfolio.

I want to save the world and make a joke about it.
What the teachers told me when I did my portfolio was to put stuff that really represent my drawing style! Examinaters usually wants to see what is your style, not all the things you could draw. You should put some old stuff you like too, to show how much and how fast you improve in art. I just post 6 portfolio, and all six were ask to be digital. For some I put them in webpage format (the one you don't have to go on the internet to show it).
I hope it helps, if you have other question just ask
wish ours did. Well officailly i've left high school now. I'm doing my A levels

Based on my (admittedly limited) experience with putting together a portfolio, it depends on what the art schools to which you're applying want. So, you should check the requirements specific to the program(s) to which you're applying or go visit them, if possible, because they include a lot of helpful advice in their info sessions. Also, you can usually set up appointments with the school and have them go over your portfolio and advise you on how to improve it and what else you should include.
But generally, I'd tell you to put your best work on top (or first, depending on how you're putting it together) to really wow the admissions people and get them wanting to look at the rest of your work.
Hey man, i just had a uni interview yesterday and i had to have a portfolio, i didnt get much help from people but i hope i can help you! I used a A2 folder with ring bindings and use heavy duty sleeves. I had a mix of digital art, photographs, drawings, paintings and other styles of drawing like charcoal. The main thing u need 2 get down is the steps in how you made something, they love seeing ruff sketches on how you got to the final piece even if the sketch is shite. If u need any more help contact me n i will do my best. Good luck mate!
