Do you get jealous of other peoples art?

I don't know if I really get jealous or just impressed. Usually when I see awesome work, it only makes me strive harder to make better work. I examine it to try to pull something I like from it and learn.

No. I have admired other peoples art skills, but I have never been so jealous of other artists that I wanted to quit. I think thats just.. silly.
When I see artists much better than me, I don't drop my pencil and say "fuck it." I ask "now how the hell did they do that?" instead.

There will ALWAYS be someone out there who is better than you at something. Always. I accept that, and instead of moping because I'm not as talented or skilled as another artists is, I strive to become better, to challenge myself and my art. So that I may improve, and maybe even become just as "good" as those artists I do admire.

When I see nice pieces it frustrates me that I don't have those skills. I can keep trying, some levels you'll just ever reach, and that's frustrating (but we can keep dreaming )

I totally understand where you're coming from. If you asked me this question of a "bad" day I'd probably say exactly what you've said. It's always good to have people cheering you on however when you get into those emotions. So, don't give up and try to use it as inspiration to continue and improve on your art. Not always an easy task when you feel that way.

Same as what nomadikk said, I don't really get jealous of other people's artwork. It's nice to look at and sometimes I do wish I could be like that, but it doesn't make me want to give up. It just makes me want to practice more.

When I do get jealous is when I see something on somebody else's work that I have tried to do and failed, or something I don't know how to do.

If you want to be the best, learn from the best.
Some day i plan to be better than the artists i admire, so when i see their work it gives me a glimpse of what my own work will look like one day.

My talent is so great that I don't get jealous. Sorry.

I don't get jealous of their art. If anything, it just motivates me to work harder if they do something really fantastic. I do admit to getting jealous when I see a piece with a thousand favourites or some fantastically high number.
