Close up question

I'm new to all this photography stuff and I took some pictures of my pieces Ive been making. They are all miniature clay kind of things. Well anyway they all came out blurry. I see such great pictures on here its so frustrating to get these blurry pics. I have my camera set to macro but that doesn't seem to be working. Any help would be great

There is such a thing as minimum focusing distance. Back off and zoom in to get the same photo. but in focus.

Are you depressing the shutter partially to allow the camera to focus? Are you getting too close to the subject when trying to focus? Is the camera on a stable surface/tripod when shooting? How much of the image are you cropping?
