Filter or blend?

Mainly one for the digital landscape shooters, which do you prefer. Use ND filtration at shoot time to get balance in a single shot or shoot multiple shots on a 'clean' lens for clarity and blend together in your editor?

I don't have the money for expensive filters so I use the computer... but I'm sure it's better with good filters.

Yeah, like Paphios said, you can get good results either way, but personally, I don't use ND grads, I prefer multiple exposures. Although I've found that if you expose for in between the sky and the ground (as in the sky is slightly over exposed, and the ground is slightly underexposed), you can just push the shadows and reduce the highlights in post for a well, one exposure photograph.

Clearly you can get useful results either way. I have tried both but I generally do better with multiple shots because I am personally better at tablet and brush or exposure fusion software than I am at using ND grads. With my aging eyes it is difficult for me to tell exactly how well the filtration is working while shooting. I think its just a personal preference.
