It's good for its price, but if you have the money to get the f/1.4 instead, do it

I'll buy a macrolens and the macro + f1.8 are together cheaper than the f1.4 :$

I have that exact lens and I've really enjoyed using it. There is a f50mm group on deviant art you can check out [link]
It's a nice lightweight lens and works well for portraits and close ups. You can find plenty of reviews throughout the net, and If you can I would suggest visiting a local/nearby camera store and trying it out. All in all, it's worth every penny.
Hope this helps, and happy lens shopping!!

1. Not sure, what do you like to shoot? What weaknesses does your current lens have that you wish to overcome?
2. The 50mm F1.8 will take sharper photos than a 24-105 so there will be no loss of quality, you will gain it.
3. I haven't used that particular 50mm but if it is like virtually any other 50 out there it will be razor sharp and great quality for the price.

I have read, that the 1.8 makes a nice bokeh, that's the reason, why i'll buy it!
Thanks! ♥

The F1.8 will create a good quality of bokeh. The F1.8 means you can shoot wide open with very nice fall off and the small diameter of the lens means you will have small bokeh circles. The lens only has 5 diaphragm blades so they may not be perfect circles, more of an angular shape ([link]). If there are lots of small highlights in the backdrop this can be a little distracting but also creates a very glamorous look.

Overall if creamy Bokeh is what you are after the 50mm F1.8 is a great option. If you want even creamier bokeh the 85mm F1.8 or 50mm F1.4 will have even smoother fall off. (They are more expensive though)
