Just asking, all I use is GIMP and mess with curves.. thats about it. My friends sister is so good at taking pictures.. She uses the big canon camera and I use a small digital camera..
I am currently using paintshop pro. I do not at all higly suggest it...it is old school and is missing a lot of tools and the ones it has are kinda hard to use...but I could not seem to download and run Gimp since my operating system is Linux. Not sure if I would run into the same issue with Photoshop? But I would sure like to upgrade. I see so many photoshop tutorials here on Deviant and "brushes" for photoshop. I will admit though I do not actually know which photoshop prgram can use the brushes or how to use them, but it has peaked my interest. I have gotten a lot of criticism lately that my photos appears unedited and washed out and so maybe it is time to invest or try to make Gimp run somehow?
Everything begins by being loaded into Lightroom 4. In fact, I'm able to take care of about 70% of my photos without ever having to leave LR. The remainder that require more fine-tuning are edited in Photoshop CS5.
Periodically I'll also let Picasa index all my new images because it can be faster than LR at giving me a high-level view of my photo library.
I've recently started playing with Gimp because my free trial of Photoshop expired and I can't afford to buy it! Gimp seems to work well and does most of the same things PS does as far as I can tell.
I use Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. I mainly straighten out photos, edit the contrast and enhance the colours slightly if they're washed out, so that's all I basically need. That and I can't afford Photoshop yet.

Can someone give me some tuts for photo editing?
