How does one conceivably do this on dA?

I write somewhat decent stuff, but it's hard to get over 100 views on anything.

Fan base isn't the same as following. The former includes commitment to whatever world you've created, I think, while the latter is to your overall style.

you've been here for 7 months and can't get over 100 views on something? boo damn hoo.

i've been here 10 years and am hella active in the community and have the same "problem". you are one of millions here at this site and you're competing with the entire planet's worth of other things to do. be happy you get anything.

I think 100 views is a lot. Have you ever read out your work in front of an audience of 100 people?

Here's some tips that may not get you a consistent spot on the front page right away, but that will definitely help getting some watchers and friends, whether you already have some, or not. Join another art site where writing is the focus. Stay on DA too but people on here have the attention span of.. hey a butterfly! I'm hungry. What day is it..? Tuesday?

I don't know. Shoot me a story if you like. (I don't like poetry :B) Keep in mind, if I'm not into it, it doesn't mean it's no good.
