I focus on simple poetry, but I feel like writing the same things over and over again. I try to put complicated emotions in simple words. But doesn't it then seem like written fast and easy? And when I write complicated nobody understands what I'm writing about.
have you ever though about writing something other than emotion poetry. i mean poems don't have to be about love, death, joy ect. how about experimenting writing comedy poems. i find them lots of fun to write and my watchers seem to like em
There's nothing wrong with writing simply. It's not really my personal preferred approach, but it has its advantages. Writing in a fuller, more complex fashion doesn't mean that you aren't going to be treading the same ground repeatedly. It just means you're going to have a bigger toolbox of words to draw from and possibly more variance in form. Subject matter is another issue entirely.
Also, simple =/= fast and easy. It takes time and effort to learn what to cut and how.
I think you can find quite a lot of variation in work that's simpler or more minimal in terms of form. Nursery rhymes are often very simple, but less sophisticated than, say, Frost or Dickinson. And someone like Frost is very different than someone like Pound or Williams.
But sometimes, when you can dissect a writing and find out all of its meaning, it like solving a mystery, and it makes the poem more interesting and memorable.
Write whatever YOU want to write. If you think it's repetitive, then you'll have to work on making it different on your own, how YOU want it to be different, to please yourself.

But doesn't it then seem like written fast and easy?
And when I write complicated nobody understands what I'm writing about.
Should I keep simple writing?
