Just curious to know why YOU love to draw or paint so much.

What kind of FEELING does it give you that is so rewarding?

When i'm in the mood i love it. I find it relaxes me. Put my headphones in, stick some music on and just block everything else around me out :)

It can be soooo frustrating at times, but when you move beyond a difficult area and realize that you just improved as an artist, right then and there, it's worth it! I may have to try 20 different things to get a nose to look right, or a skin texture to look right, but all that matters is that ONE time it works. Even creating something cartoony or comic-book like can be so fulfilling. It doesn't have to be a huge, epic piece of work.

I love the feeling of just getting lost in my work... And it gives me a sense of accomplishment when I finish a drawing. Usually.

Sometimes it frustrates me to no end, but I get a huge feeling of accomplishment when I improve at it.

Thing is, I don't love it. I hate it, all of it. I just need it.

It's relaxing because I seem to tune out everything around me. It's just me focusing on whatever I'm working on until I finish for the day, or finish the project, altogether. :la:

Well, psychology will tell me that I experience something called "flow" when I'm drawing. It's when a person loses themselves completely in what they're doing, but is also challenged and completely enveloped in the activity. For me, I feel completely relaxed and find it to be a perfectly productive way to escape for a few hours. So drawing gives me great stress relief as well as a nice sense of worth and purpose :D Yay art!
