Decorating sketchbook?

As I have started new project, I started new sketchbook. It means blank new space to have fresh new start. I always felt a bit troubled decorating my sketchbooks. If you ever studied art you might understand need to fill in blankness for coursework and desire to make it look good.


Part I find most troubling is backgrounds and covers. I was wondering ,if anyone has some tips, tricks or ideas. Maybe even some no-nos from experience.

I created a design where it's cute chibbi drawings and song lyrics from my favorite songs in all different colors so its like a collage(:

There's a problem if your instructors care more about decorations than they do about the content of the sketchbooks. :roll:

No, it is equally important(recording your work and understanding). Though decorating it is my own choice c:

I like to look up other artists' journals on google because of how interestingly decorated they are. :) It might give you some ideas.
