Colored Pencil stuff

Hey just want to ask how do you really do colored pencils? All I got is a handful of random color pencils so maybe I should get certain type or brand or anything? And how do you really blend n such?

I use Faber-Castell, totally recommended because it's really good quality and cheap; I blend by simply layering from the lightest color to the darkest, you may want to look up some tutorials about it.

I have found myself in a similar situation confused about how I really 'do' watercolors, and I just today went to the library and got 2 big fat books on the subject. I suggest you do something similar.

Have you looked up any books or tutorials on the topic? That's probably your best starting point.

I blend in simply by layering. I consider prismacolor pencils to be the best though. They blend the best IMO.
